OLLI in the Media

OLLI on YouTube

The OLLI series “Foreign Cultures and American Foreign Policy” moderated by James O. Perkins, Commander, US Navy, Retired is now available on YouTube. “Foreign Cultures and American Foreign Policy” was a 3-year series at OLLI at UVa and consists of 18 lectures from years 2012, 2013, and 2014 in Charlottesville, Virginia. The series was created by James Perkins with the assistance of Dr. R. K. Ramazani, professor emeritus of government and foreign affairs at the University of Virginia, and Allen Lynch, professor of politics, University of Virginia.

These are presentations, by University of Virginia professors, to inform participants about foreign cultures and how they affect those countries’ behavior, and how that knowledge can create an enlightened American foreign policy.

This free series of presentations was uploaded to YouTube and edited by Jim Perkins, with the assistance of the Winston Churchill High School, of Potomac, Maryland. The Principal of Winston Churchill H. S., Joan L. Benz, provided her staff members, Robert J. Jones, Information Technology Systems Specialist II and Media Services Technician Ben Schnapp to help establish the YouTube Channel and upload most of the videos. My thanks to them and Jim Peterson, the videographer, for their help. Watch here.
