Frank MacHovec is a retired clinical psychologist who has presented workshops in communications and positive self-help for 30 years in the U.S. and Canada. He currently teaches psychology at Piedmont Virginia Community College.
Everyone has a sense of humor (yes, even you!). We will explore what’s funny and why, the varieties of humor now and throughout history, and the value of a sense of humor to physical and mental health.
Session 1: Comic kaleidoscope (What’s funny? The varieties of humor).
Session 2: Laughing matters (Why is anything funny? Psychological aspects; classical theories).
Session 3: Humor, yours and mine (How to develop a healthy sense of humor).
