Did you ever wonder what the leaders in our community do in a typical day? Now is the chance to learn about A Day in the Life of…
September 25: Bob Tucker, Albemarle County Executive. Bob has held the position of County Executive for the past 17 years. Prior to that he served as Deputy County Executive and Director of Planning and Community Development and has been with the county government for 35 years.
October 2: Timothy J. Longo, Charlottesville Chief of Police. Having retired from the Baltimore City Police Department as a Colonel/Bureau Chief overseeing the department’s Technical Services Bureau, Tim Longo came to Charlottesville in February 2001 to assume the responsibility of Chief of Police. Tim will highlight the transition from big city to small town—while at the same time discussing issues that are very common to both.
October 16: Tom Frederick, Executive Director, Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority and Rivanna Solid Waste Authority. Tom Frederick has an educational background in civil engineering and public administration and 29 years of experience in local-government public works, including 15 years of management experience.
October 23: Sally Thomas, Albemarle County Board of Supervisors. Sally is currently the longest-serving member of the Board of Supervisors. She was elected in an unusual write-in campaign in 1993.
