Stacy Ringel holds her B.A. and M.A. in English and has taught American and British literature at both the high school and college levels.
Her nonfiction and academic articles have appeared in The Downside Review and Crisis Magazine.

In this discussion-driven, lecture-minimal course, we will consider The Great Gatsby in its historical context while paying particular attention to Fitzgerald’s life and its relevance to the novel. Themes to consider will include idealism, personal identity, illusion/reality, recklessness, and the culture of The Jazz Age.  Please be prepared to ask questions and contribute to discussions.
